Miriam joined PMI-VI in 2019 and has been an active contributor to the chapter community ever since. She led the Mentorship Program through 2020 and 2021 during its transition to virtual delivery and expanded program reach to provide greater access for members. Miriam was the recipient of the VICTOR award in March 2021 for her outstanding service and is thrilled to continue to serve the PMI community in an expanded leadership role.
She is passionate about working with talented teams to achieve challenging project goals through strategic thinking, creativity and agility. Her impact includes managing short-term and multi-year projects in a variety of sectors including IT, construction, non-profit, event production and hospitality. She has led multi-year IT transformations as well as medium to large-scale festival and event infrastructure projects in Canada, the UK and Ireland.
Miriam is a lifelong learner and an advocate for education as an opportunity for professional and personal growth. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from York University in Toronto and has also studied Applied Project Management at Camosun College and Business Administration at UVIC in Victoria. Her professional certifications include PMP, A-CSM, CSM, CSPO and ITIL 4.
Outside of project work, some of her favourite activities involve hiking, travel, reading fantasy novels and listening to everything from Lizzo to The Clash to Lights to Taylor Swift.
