PMI-VI is hosting a Professional Development Series with virtual sessions and an in-person event.
THEME: Resilience, Agility & Innovation: How do organizations adapt better and quickly pivot in times of change and/or crisis?

SPEAKER: Amber McMillan
A diversely skilled project manager, teacher and trainer with unique aptitude for innovating and leading complex initiatives, Amber is an extremely capable and confident leader. She practices careful organizational leadership and performs very well under pressure. With her commitment to the highest of standards, she works hard to create and sustain positive working and learning environments through team building, motivation and her own contagious enthusiasm.
Amber’s career has been anchored in the non-profit sector since 1995. Since that time, she has worked as a Director of Operations, Teacher/Trainer and Project Manager. Prior to that, Amber held a number of positions in the for-profit sector from Project Coordinator, Strategic Business Analyst and Organizational Lead. Throughout her career, Amber has directed and innovated projects to suit organizational objectives, assessed potential change management issues and created and led project change. As a teacher/trainer, she has developed and taught leadership curriculum including workshops, training modules with customized content, agendas, organizational logistics and facilitation.
She is currently the Executive Director for Rogers Society. Additionally, she is a facilitator for the Master’s Certificate in Project Management for Western Canada teaching Communications, Leadership and Stakeholder Management. She also leads workshops for Volunteer Victoria in Project, Change and People Management.
Amber holds a Masters Certificate in Project Management from University of Victoria. In 1992, she completed the Life Base Diploma program at St. Stephen’s University. She attained her PMP accreditation in June 2015 and became a Certified Change Manager (CMC) through Prosci in June 2015. She is also a member of the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration (CCVA) and holds a Certification in Volunteer Administration (CVA) designation.
Photo and Video Consent
All participants hereby consent to the use of their likeness, including but not limited to photographs and videos, taken during the conference. Participants understand and agree that these photographs and videos may be used by the conference organizers for promotional and marketing purposes, including but not limited to website content, social media posts, brochures, and other promotional materials.
Participants further acknowledge that they will not receive any compensation or royalty for the use of their likenesses in the photographs and videos.
If participants wish to refrain from being photographed or filmed during the conference, it is their responsibility to inform the conference organizers in writing prior to the start of the conference. The conference organizers will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests, but cannot guarantee that all photographs or videos will be excluded.
Participants release the conference organizers, volunteers, and any third parties acting under their authority, from any claims, damages, or liability arising out of or related to the use of their likeness in the photographs and videos.
