How to Claim Your PDUs in CCRS

PMI's online claim page (ccrs.pmi.org/claim) is where you report the activities that keep your certification current. There are two ways to start a claim and ten activity categories to choose from. Jump to any section below.

Two ways to start a claim

1. If you have a claim code. Some PMI-approved providers give you a 10-character PDU claim code unique to each course (for example, 200068JJYM). Codes ending in -S are for events you attended. Codes can be issued by PMI, ATPs / China R.E.P.s, PMI chapters, and the PMI Global Accreditation Council. On the claim page, click "I have a claim code" and enter it — the activity details fill in for you. This is the fastest route when a code is available.

2. If you don't have a claim code. Pick the category below that best matches your activity and enter the provider and activity details yourself. The categories are explained next.

Education categories

Activities where you learned something — courses, meetings, media, reading, and discussion.

Course or Training — In-person or virtual classes, formal education. Includes educational events held by PMI chapters and instructor-led e-learning courses. Covers courses offered by PMI Training; PMI Authorized Training Partners (ATPs) / China Registered Education Providers (China R.E.P.s); programs accredited by the PMI Accreditation Center (GAC); and general training organizations.

Organization Meetings — Chapter, company, or professional meetings. Includes educational sessions at industry conferences, PMI chapter or local events, and meetings focused on areas of the PMI Talent Triangle. Limited to 1–2 PDUs.

Online or Digital Media — Pre-recorded webinars, podcasts, and digital recordings. Self-paced learning conducted online or through digital media such as webinars, podcasts, interactive CD-ROM, and videos.

Read — Books, articles, and blogs. Qualifying reading includes informational, non-fiction books, articles, white papers, or blogs.

Informal Learning — Structured discussions with other professionals or mentors. Includes mentoring sessions, panel discussions, lunch-and-learn sessions, or other structured discussions.

Work as a Practitioner — Working in a profession related to your certification. Claim once per cycle, roughly matching the time you spent actively working in the profession. Active the entire 3-year cycle: claim the maximum (8 PDUs for PMP, PgMP, PfMP, PMI-PBA; 4 for PMI-ACP, PMI-RMP, PMI-SP). Active for half the cycle: claim half the maximum (4 PDUs for PMP, PgMP, PfMP, PMI-PBA; 2 for PMI-ACP, PMI-RMP, PMI-SP).

Giving Back categories

Activities where you shared and applied your knowledge to help build the profession.

Create Content — Authoring books or articles, creating webinars. Includes writing books, articles, white papers, or blogs, and creating webinars or presentations.

Give a Presentation — Preparing for and speaking or presenting. Presentations you delivered at a PMI chapter event, another professional conference, or internally at your organization, that relate to your certification.

Share Knowledge — Serving as a moderator, SME, or mentor. Sharing project management knowledge with others as a mentor, teacher, or coach, or by applying your subject-matter expertise.

Volunteer — Volunteering without compensation. Volunteer activity that relates to your certification and contributes to advancing knowledge or practice within the profession.

The claim, step by step
  1. Log in to CCRS at ccrs.pmi.org/claim with your PMI account.
  2. Have a claim code? Click "I have a claim code," enter it, then skip to step 5.
  3. No code? Pick the category above that matches your activity (the category links jump straight to each form).
  4. Enter the provider, activity title, dates, and number of PDUs — split across the Talent Triangle areas where the form asks.
  5. Review the details and submit. Your PDUs post to your certification record.
