Call for Nominations 2025/26
The Call for Nominations for the 2025/26 Board Cycle is now open. The roles in bold are OPEN for nomination in our 2025-2026 election:
- President
- President-Elect
- Treasurer
- Vice President, Operations
- Vice President, Internal Relations
- Vice President, External Relations
- Vice President, Professional Development
As a result of PMI's Chapter Leaders’ Guide: Chapter Volunteer Role Delineation Study Results - Fourth Edition published in 2022, we have reorganized our Board of Directors structure to align with other PMI Chapters worldwide. We have expanded to offer more leadership opportunities, while centralizing our voting positions to better align with PMI & BC Societies requirements.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for nomination to the Board of Directors of the PMI Vancouver Island Chapter, the candidate must meet the following criteria:

Membership Status

Must be a current, active member of PMI in good standing & a member of the PMI Vancouver Island Chapter.

Experience & Expertise
-
Demonstrated interest, knowledge and/or experience in project management, either through professional work experience, certification (e.g., PMP or equivalent), or volunteering within PMI or related organizations, and an understanding of PMI-VI's mission.

Board Commitment
-
Must be willing to commit to the time and responsibilities required of a Board member, which includes attending Board meetings, participating in chapter activities, providing leadership in key initiatives, and being available via email/phone on an agreed-upon cadence by all Board Members to support ongoing Chapter operations.

Must be able to fulfill a term of office (usually 2 years) as defined by the Chapter's By-laws.

Leadership & Teamwork

Proven ability to work effectively with others in a collaborative environment and provide leadership in driving organizational goals.

Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution, with a focus on chapter growth and member engagement.

Good Standing with the Law
-
The nominee must not have any legal or financial issues that could jeopardize the reputation or operations of the PMI Vancouver Island Chapter.

Conflict of Interest

The candidate must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may impact their role as a Board member (e.g., personal or business relationships with vendors, sponsors, or other stakeholders).

Additional Requirements
-
Candidates for specific roles (e.g., President, Treasurer, etc.) may be required to meet additional qualifications as outlined in the Chapter’s By-laws or policies.

Any additional criteria set forth in the PMI Vancouver Island Chapter By-laws or any relevant governance policies.

Nomination Screening
A Representative from the Nomination Committee will arrange a brief interview with all nominees to clarify the nature of the commitment & evaluate suitability. Nominations will be accepted until the closing date.
Biographies
Once your nomination has been accepted, you will be asked to submit a biography and photo to be posted on our website for members to review before voting. No vote will be required if the number of applications is equal to or less than the available positions.
