Volunteering Benefits
Project management is more about the people than about projects, which is why we believe it's important to get involved with your local Chapter.
Volunteering with the PMI Vancouver Island Chapter is one of the most rewarding ways to grow your leadership skills, expand your professional network, and give back to the project management community on Vancouver Island. Whether you contribute a few hours or take on a more sustained role, your involvement directly strengthens the chapter and the profession.
Current Opportunities
We are actively recruiting for the following positions. All roles are posted on the PMI Volunteer Portal — click each title below to view the full posting and apply directly.
Volunteer Directors
Directors work closely with our VP positions to support their portfolio and ensure quality, timely, and professional services for our membership and community.
Time Commitment:

Director-level roles: 11–20 hours per month (negotiable)

All other roles: 5–10 hours per month
Active PMI membership in good standing is required for all positions. Ensure your membership is current before submitting an expression of interest.
How to Get Involved
Step 1 — Confirm your PMI membership
Active PMI membership in good standing is a prerequisite for all volunteer and Director positions with the PMI Vancouver Island Chapter. Membership must be current at the time of application and maintained throughout your period of service. If you are not yet a member, visit pmi.org to join before proceeding.
Step 2 — Browse open positions on the PMI Volunteer Portal
All PMIVI volunteer and Director-level positions are posted exclusively through the PMI Volunteer Portal. This is the only channel where opportunities will be listed — positions are not posted on social media or through any other platform.
To view and apply for open positions:

Log in at volunteer.pmi.org using your PMI member credentials

Search for PMI Vancouver Island Chapter to see all currently available positions

Submit your expression of interest directly through the portal
Step 3 — Complete the application process
Once your expression of interest is received, a member of the Nominations or Volunteer Committee will follow up to discuss the role, confirm eligibility, and outline next steps.
