Our Invisible Briefcase: Unpacking Cultural Privilege at Work
Our Invisible Briefcase will assist professionals seeking to better understand how cultural privilege influences how we lead and how we engage with our teams. Through guided reflection, brief breakout discussions, and real-world examples, participants will explore how unearned advantages appear in everyday interactions, how empathy can bridge divides, and how inclusive leadership practices can create team cultures of belonging. Attendees will leave with tangible actions to recognize bias, strengthen collaboration, and contribute to equitable, socially responsible workplaces.
Bio:
Andrea McCoy is a storyteller, facilitator, and communications consultant specializing in inclusive leadership, cultural understanding, and organizational storytelling. Through her firm, Janklin Consulting, she helps teams create cultures rooted in empathy, equity, and collaboration. Andrea’s workshops and consultations have supported organizations across Canada and in the UAE, transforming their approaches to belonging and workplace communication. With a background in narrative design and intercultural dialogue, she brings warmth, depth, and practical insight to every session—guiding participants to unpack their own setbacks and lead with awareness and care.

Photo and Video Consent
All participants hereby consent to the use of their likeness, including but not limited to photographs and videos, taken during the conference. Participants understand and agree that these photographs and videos may be used by the conference organizers for promotional and marketing purposes, including but not limited to website content, social media posts, brochures, and other promotional materials.
Participants further acknowledge that they will not receive any compensation or royalty for the use of their likenesses in the photographs and videos.
If participants wish to refrain from being photographed or filmed during the conference, it is their responsibility to inform the conference organizers in writing prior to the start of the conference. The conference organizers will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests, but cannot guarantee that all photographs or videos will be excluded.
Participants release the conference organizers, volunteers, and any third parties acting under their authority, from any claims, damages, or liability arising out of or related to the use of their likeness in the photographs and videos.
